Hospital bag checklist for your baby

Your hospital bag is incomplete without those necessary stuffs for the new baby. Yes, you will have your baby at the hospital, and if you are clueless about what to pack for your brand new baby, we have got you covered.

Car-seat:

If you are planning to drive home after delivery, you will need to have a car seat installed in the car. Otherwise, you would not be allowed to leave the hospital with the baby. While choosing car seats, the first thing the parents should keep in mind is the safety. The other important thing to consider is the comfort of the baby. If the seat is not comfortable, the baby may become fussy. As per my experience, the ones from Chicco is the best. The OneFit™ ClearTex® All-in-One Car Seat fits your child, vehicle and life – from birth through booster. Its slim, space-saving design fits easily into your vehicle without compromising comfort for your growing child. Designed with top-rated installation features, OneFit™ is easy to install as you transition from a rear-facing harness (5–40 lb) to forward-facing harness (25–65 lb) to booster (40–100 lb). Featuring ClearTex® fabrics with no added chemicals, OneFit™ ClearTex® is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions, contributing to healthier air quality around your child.

Receiving blanket:

Although hospital provides blankets, but a blanket of your own is always good to have on hand to use during skin-to-skin contact. It can also be used to keep your baby warm on the way home. You can get beautiful unique and customized receiving blankets from Little Days. Available in Mini 100 x 120cm, all blankets are knitted using 100% cotton. No embroidery or printing used; machine wash in cold, hang dry, or tumble on low; so many color combinations to choose from; these blankets come complete with 2 wooden accessories to help mark the numbers of days, weeks, months or years of your precious little one! Just provide them with name and birth date and choose a custom design and pick a cute box for the blankie! You will love it!

Bodysuits:

Hospital policies can vary on what newborns can be dressed in so consult with your doctor in advance about what to pack. You may need to add to what the hospital provides in terms of accessories and layers. Remember, with bodysuits it’s a good idea to choose those that fasten up at the front or can be worn bottom up. I would recommend the ones from Tabeeze. Tabeeze is the World’s First Bottom-Up Baby Bodysuit, designed to make changing your baby easier than you ever imagined possible. With patented shoulder flaps and fumble-free snap alignment, Tabeeze maximizes the ease of skin-to-skin bonding and minimizes the mess of diaper blowouts. Made of super-soft organic, ring-spun, jersey cotton; Pre-shrunk so it won't pill, stretch or lose its shape; Free from nickel, phthalates, flame retardants and solvents; Organically printed label, and flat inner seams, prevent skin irritation; 100% GOTS Certified Organic cotton & manufacturing. If you are looking for something more fancy, I would recommend those from Honeybug. They are customized to meet your requirements and you will love them!

Swaddles:

Babies like to be swaddled because they get a feeling as-if they are still in mom’s womb, and as a result they sleep well. The hospitals provide soft towels, which can be used as swaddles, but they are small, so the swaddles tends to open out quickly and not stay in place. Get these softest 30% cotton muslin & 70% bamboo swaddles from bundledbaby. They get softer with each wash and are already pre-washed so you can use them right away. These are Thermal Regulating, Hypoallergenic & Antibacterial, Versatile & Multipurpose ( can be used as nursing cover/picnic blanket or burp-cloths) and comes in Unique Designs.

Socks/ Booties/ Mittens:

These accessories not only help to keep your baby warm, but also help to keep them from scratching themselves. They have very thin and sharp nails which can be dangerous for their skin. You will get some really cute and useful mitten sets, booties and socks from Carters.

Feeding bottles:

If you are planning to bottle-feed your baby, you can plan ahead to buy Breastmilk baby bottles from Nanobebe for your baby. They are great for newborns as they have the shape of breasts and are designed to prevent nipple confusion while transition to milk bottles. These baby bottle designed to preserve the essential nutrients found in breast milk, making it the best bottle for breastfed babies. The innovative design quickly cools breast milk during storage to help prevent bacterial growth. When thawing, the Breastmilk Bottle safely and evenly warms 2x faster than other bottles to help protect nutrients and quickly feed your hungry little one. The advanced 360° anti-colic nipple is triple vented to help prevent air bubbles that can cause discomfort and fuss.
